I have a Gitane TDF that I wanted to present to the CR list before taking it elsewhere. History suggests it is from 73-74 time period. The frame is
a 60 cm center to center. It has been through a complete rebuild with the exception of the wheels. It needs new tires as the sew-ups are not safe to
ride in their condition (IMHO). I would call the overall condition as good . There is some rust 'crazing' in the paint, mostly on the underside of the top and down tubes. I would call this very minor. The decal set is very
good with the exception of the Reynolds 531 sticker on the seat tube. Why is that everyone has to destroy this decal in their bike stand??? The chrom e is pretty good with some mild pitting. The wheels where build up with non -SS spokes and they look kind of bad ..... I would rebuild these wheels if I was going to ride this bike.
