Andrew, My first choice would be Captain Lee's spray strip. Second choice would be Kwik Kleen Aircraft stripper. My third choice would be Morton, and last but not necessarily the least would be Jasco. All of them are up to the task, just remember to protect yourself. It's nasty stuff.

Don't blast! the chrome will peel, and then you'll be sorry. Keith

I just received a 1974 Raleigh Track frame. It has a horrible red paint job, and some of the chrome has been painted over. I want to first remove the paint from the chrome, and then the paint as a whole.

What is the best solution/ chemical to remove paint?

If I got the frame sand blasted, would that destroy the chrome? Or can I protect it?

I've never stripped a frame, so I'm trying to get opinions.
