One thing I noted is that The Nitto website does not list the 136AA randonn eur bars sold by Jitensha Studio, although it lists the 135AA randonneur, w hich is nice enough, but to me the 136AA is a more comfortable shape and ha s even nicer engraving. Last week, just before Thanksgiving, I ordered a couple of pairs of 136AA from Jitensha, one of which I plan to use on the Fatic frame I hope to receive soon. For those who may recall, this was o ne of the two bikes Doug received back from his parents or in-laws (if forg et which) to sell toward his daughter's college expenses. It was to be r epainted to my specs with brazeons added, all of which I hope will soon be complete. I think the Nittos will go quite nicely. Anyway, when order ing the 136AA, I took the opportunity to ask Jitensha proprietor Hiroshi Ii mura about this model. It turns out this model is made by Nitto to Hiros hi's specifications, just as the 176 and 177 were originally made to Grant's specs at Rivendell. It seems that the designer has an exclusive on such a Nitto model for a few years, and evidently the 136AA is still ma de exclusively fot Jitensha. It seems the Nitto website does not show mo dels made exclusively for one retailer. I wonder if this is why the larg e Nitto rear rack sold by Rivendell does not appear on the website. Pe rhaps Rivendell designed it and still has an exclusive.
