I have several sets of Zeus cranks, both with and without the raised lips. The only thing I note is that the arms with the later date codes ("g" and higher) have sunken pedal holes; those with the earlier date codes (unmarked through "e") have the raised lips. I don't have an "f" arm to compare.

My unmarked, "a" and "c" road arms are unanodized and have the raised lip. My "e" marked track arms have the raised lip and anodized finish; my "g" "h" "i" and "k" road arms have the sunken pedal hole and anodized finish.

Alas, although the letter codes appear to be date codes, I have never been able to determine what years they correspond to, but the lower letters appear to be older models.
