mark, that is the 1963 model, so it came out in 1963. According to the 1963 Ron Kitchening Catalog. they were available for maybe at the most, a decade. The previous model was the cool chrome steel one, that had the integrated seat unit. hope that helps. Ralph via Bicycle philadelphia, PA
