Master Teo, I would say post-war on both counts if we consider 1939 as the cutoff. I have just thumbed thru an ancient Brown Brothers Catalog so moldy I've had to sniff WD40 just to rebalance my sense of smell. I'm sure our British List members will be able to nail the Dunlop question with some authority. I have also within easy reach a 1939 (French) Arthur Herold catalog sans any Robergel listings. So that's my Scientific- wild-assed-guess. Catalogs like Cyclegoods/Cycl-ology and Ron Kitching list Robergel in the 3 Stainless choices and Kitchings writes that Robergel is one of the oldest firms making only spokes but no dates are given. I also checked through the 75th, 90th and 100th Edition Anniversaries of the American Bicyclist which all show copious establishment dates for all manners of everything bicycle and nothing on Robergel.

I need some assistance with two component timelines. I have a bike with steel chrome Dunlop special lightweight 27x1-1/4 made
in England UK 266486 dimple spokehole rims. Could they be prewar or does the UK signify post war? How about Robergel stainless spokes? Prewar or postwar? I have my estimation, but won't suggest my thoughts pending your learned
comments so as not to influence your response. I'll tell you the machine they are on after I have some feedback. Thanks for your help. Ted Ernst Palos Verdes Estates California, USDA
