Subject: [CR]Francophiles, help me outfit a early 1980's McLean with French parts

I have a very nice Mclean frame from around 1981. It's obviously a touring frame as it has fender eyelets and touring geometry. I've built up a bunch of bikes with Campy and am looking for something a little different. Also, Campy wasn't really into the whole touring thing. The frame has English threading and is made for non-recessed sidepull brakes. I'm not crazy about going with a triple. I'd rather have an "early compact crank", possibly 50/36. The following list of components are only suggestions. I'm more than open to some give and take. My only requirements are French, approximate period-correctness and excellent performance for a touring bike. I may use this bike on some brevets this year and I also plan on bringing it to Cirque.

Bottom Bracket - Stronglight, TA

Headset - Stronglight

Crank - TA Cyclotouriste or Stronglight

Pedals - TA or Lyotar Berthet

Chain - Sedis

Deraillers - Huret Duopar, long cage Jubillee, Simplex SLJ

Shifter - Simplex Retrofriction or are there French bar-ends?

Hubs - Normandy, Maillard, Pelissier

Spokes - Robergel

Rims - Mavic, Super Champion, AVA (probably should be clinchers but maybe not. maybe some nice Dugast tubulars)

Brakes - how about these Mafac side-pulls (Ebay # 370029296853 or URL http://ebay.com/<blah>

Freewheel - Atom, Maillard, Simplex

Bars and Stem - Phillipe or maybe a Herse or Singer stem, what other French bar/stems are there?

Saddle - Ideale (which model)

Seatpost - Simplex?

Fenders - Berthoud

Merci beaucoup a tout les Francophiles et tu aussi Jerry Moos,
