David's journey toward the Tour du Rouge Hi, I'd just like to take a moment to once again thank everyone who has already made a donation toward my fundraising goal for the Tour du Rouge and the American Red Cross. Currently I am near the half way mark and am still the leading fundraiser - and I'd like to keep it that way! Visit http://www.active.com/donate/tourdurouge and you can check on my status and see the comments left by some of you as well as other contributors. Also, I wanted to let you know that the tour organizers have rerouted the tour and we're now up to a planned 538 miles (check out the maps at http://www.tourdurouge.org ). We had a meeting last Saturday and found out about the extra miles and the 115 mile day! Whoopee! Even though this tour is still several months away, I'm really excited about all that that the organizers have in store for us. There are sightseeing excursions along the route and educational as well as fun entertainment planned for the evenings. Expect a detailed online photo album from me sometime after the tour. As for my training, I am now exceeding my planned goal of 350 miles per month. I ended up with over 400 miles in February. At this pace, I think my legs and rear end will be ready for the trip come October! Although this route is fairly flat, we're told we have a fantastic head wind to look forward to - and just wait until you see photos of some of the bridges we have to cross! That's all for this update. Once again, be sure to pass this email and these links along to your friends and coworkers. I'm nearing the half way mark to my goal now, but nothing would make me happier than to exceed that goal knowing that the money is going to a worthwhile cause going to deserving people. To make a donation to my fundraising efforts, visit http://www.active.com/donate/tourdurouge/DKing222 . Thanks again, David King

Hello family, friends and coworkers,

I wanted to take a moment to tell you about something I'm doing this coming October. I'm joining in with other cyclists as we ride the 500 miles from Houston, TX to New Orleans, LA in an effort to raise money for the American Red Cross. It's going to be six days of riding along the Gulf Coast and learning about all that the Red Cross has done in the hurricane devastated areas - and, of course, raise money for future needs. I'm really excited about it and I'm looking forward to the adventure.

If you would like to help me achieve my goal of raising $3000.00, just go to: http://www.active.com/donate/tourdurouge/DKing222 to get right to my personal web page. The website is secure, fast and easy to use. At the website you will be able to choose an amount to donate and receive email confirmation of your donation. Your donation can remain anonymous or you can add your name to my list of supporters. If you'd like to learn more about the tour, view the route, and see the itinerary, go to: http://www.tourdurouge.org To learn more about the American Red Cross and everything that they do, visit: http://www.redcross.org To view the total fundraising efforts of the ride, go to http://www.active.com/donate/tourdurouge. You can also see where I stand with other riders. The last time I looked, I was the leading fundraiser - I’d like to keep it that way! Also, please be sure and forward this email to any or all of your friends and coworkers - because I won't say 'no' to anyone that wants to donate and help me reach my goal!

Thanks in advance for your help. David
