My short cage Jubilee der works easily with a 28 cog, and I remember
them in the 70s specced on bikes with 28 large cogs. I haven't looked
at the parallelograms of the long cage Jubilee but if the pulley cage
is the only difference then the long cage Jubilee handles more chain
not larger cogs.

There were freewheels sold in the 70s with 38 tooth cogs. We have to go back pretty far to find restricted cogsets--I wonder when the first 28 tooth cogsets became available?
