I purchased a Viner back in the 80s on a tip from a fellow racer and built it up with Campy Victory components. It was made of Columbus SLX tubing and did indeed have steep angles. I raced on the bike for a while and found it to be quick and agile, yet comfortable to ride. At the price, it was a steal. I think Viner didn't catch on because of the funky graphics, and probably the nane, the bike was much nicer than it looked. Last year, I bought another Viner at a yard sale that also had Campy Victory components. it wasn't SLX tubing, and the graphics were different and much nicer. I still have both bikes.
