Hey, Listmeister says so. Despite the 1984 date. I asked.

http://ebay.com/<blah

It's an ebay auction, starting bid $5K, buy it now at $6K. Item number 380119753540.

NOT MINE -- apparently, it is still Ted Kirkbride's, unless someone's got $6K burning a hole in their pocket. Not me posting the auction, either -- just outing it.

What makes it special? The story on the auction page is that Shimano asked Masi CA to build a bike to show off the new Dura Ace AX at shows in 1984. (Have I mentioned my special request to Dale for permission to post?) Assignment went to Dave Moulton, hence the "DM1" serial number. The result is a fillet-brazed aero bike, including world-champ band "aero" decals on the top tube, I see. All a bit dusty, but advertised here as NOS.

Check out: -- The slightly bubbled entry/exit points for the internal cable routing. -- The use of the "aero" decal and MASI decal on the side of the finned head tube. -- "Finned" bottom bracket shell -- The blatantly non-aero use of a Unicanitor! -- Lack of information on the bike's weight.... -- The fact that they want $5K-$6K for a bike they can't be bothered to wipe down before taking pictures. Then again, this is Ted Kirkbride(TM) Schmutz.

Well, I haven't seen it mentioned previously on Dave Moulton's blog; I know he keeps an eye open for Fusos and Dave Moultons on ebay, but this may have escaped notice so far. Someone ping the man, 'cause I'd love to hear commentary.

(I also promise to send Dave M. some pix of my custom Dave Moulton/labeled Fuso FRX/actually Cal Poly race bike/hideously repainted to look like moldy pipe. It's my regular ride, actually, and carried me through my first century ride a few months back and about 45 miles yesterday. Not built for me at the time, but clearly built for me anyway! Keep telling myself it must get repainted in proper Cal Poly livery, but then again I want to ride it tomorrow if time permits.)
