The recent in discussion about 27" tires has prompted me to make the first (of what may be several) offers to the CR list before marketing items elsewhere. As most are aware, as part of my acquisition and reestablishment of Mel Pinto Imports, I also opened a retail outlet called Velo Classique. The intent with Velo Classique is to offer new old stock components, small parts, supplies and accessories from the MPI inventory directly to the general consumer (and primarily to the collector/restorer/enthusiast community).

I've just gone through the 27" tire inventory, and am offering the following tires to the CR list first. Many are in the hard to find narrower "sport" sizes. In keeping with list policy, I will only make this offering once. If you decide at a later date that you might desire some 27" tires, please call the shop at 540-338-8376. Most likely there will still be some left, particularly of the larger quantities. These tires have been stored flat, and many are still in their original paper wrapping. Some of the loose ones have very minor blemishes, or possibly some very slight discoloration of the sidewalls, but for the most part, these are as "new" as you are likely to find for tires of this age, still supple and not dried out. The Wolber model W-20s have cotton casings, other models have nylon casings. The Wolber tires are true gum-wall color, whereas the Specialized and IRC are what I call tan sidewall color.

Prices are indicated. Shipping is extra, and there will be a small packing charge of $5 per order, in addition to the shipping charge. Please understand that shipping is not particularly simple, as these are not folding tires and generally must be boxed (most often a fabricated box) when in small quantities. Consequently, the cost and handling is kind of like shipping a pair of rims. Not too troublesome or expensive, but not really cheap and easy either.
