Jon Spangler sez ".... Found some black Simplex retrofriction shifters on ebay this morning-- never seen them like this before, though: 200362428299 The barrels look right but the lever graphics and style look to be an homage to the old Delrin-derailleur-days levers...What gives?..."

They're lightweight, kinda flexy shifters. Simplex also made these in a Gipiemme-badged version with gold metal instead of silver. I'm using the Gipiemme version on my Tempesta, and you can see them on the bottom photo shot from the back. Work well enough but not robust IMHO; I shift them gently, fearing I will snap them off.
