Chesini certainly had the capacity to build a lot of bikes. Some old photos are here: http://italiancyclingjournal.blogspot.com/2007/11/old-chesini-production-photos.html The last three photos being the later photos, from 70s or 80s.

Michael and list, and Zullo-fans! I just spoke to John van Herwerden, and am now able to shed some light on these matters (and to correct my original assumptions!). The beautiful Van Herwerden bike that was on ebay a while ago (and sold for a good price, wow!!!

http://cgi.ebay.nl/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item20420645482&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT )

was either build by Zullo or by Chesini. Both is possible, Van Herwerden worked with both builders. Next, the brand name Zullini was a name that Van Herwerden came up with, a combination of 'Zullo' and 'Chesini' (obviously). Even the font of the name Zullini is the same as the font of Van Herwerden. It seems every reputable Dutch (or Belgian for that matter) bikeshop was in need of an Italian sounding name for its house brands ... Remember Paganini for the Plum Vainqueur shop in Gent, Belgium?

I also asked about the black anodized and panto'd Campy parts: these were done by a firm in Italy, probably not far from Verona. The black Chesini cassette hubs were made by OMAS.

So much for digging into history ...

BTW, I'm offering my neighbors 79 Chesini to the list this evening, just have to get the text right.
