They might have been produced by Gitane. However, the lugs do not appear to be like anything Gitane used in the 1960's.... Who knows, though. Maybe th ey were purchased just for JA frames?

I believe the Anquetil frames were made my Gitane. IIRC, Anquetil rode Git anes later in his career, after riding Helyetts earlier, I think some of his own race bikes were Anquetil-badged Gitanes. Perhaps that was what inspired Eddy Me rckx to insist in riding bikes marked with his own name for most of his career.
