Ahhhhh- Brings back wonderful memories.. Pulled this move off many times. As I recall there was a slight back peddle motion involved. A silent freewheel was a must. For me while coasting, a slight move of the shift lever with a slight back peddle and you were in another gear. To check if you were locked in to the right spot another full back peddle would let you know you were in gear. First couple times I tried this manuover I didn't check to see that the shift lever was in the right place and I was in fact between gears. A dead give away when you went on to make a pass with the gears and chain skipping and you trying not to crash...
