This cycle sports a Madrid license tag dated 1958. The staff at the shop knew nothing about the bike. It had been in storage for some time. Someone had mounted modern tubulars. The signature touches of Don Enrique were present: the "O" shaped chainstay bridge, the arrow motif on the fork crown, tapered chainstays, beautiful stem, etc. The absence of lugs and clips is notable.
It was like opening a time capsule.
