Hello John,
The frame has 3533 on it according to the frame sprayer. The other number long number I have been told is the serial number for the Nervex lugs. Insert is British.

Hello Mr. Pang, It definitely has Nervex lugs, all Chater Lea components and appears British. Look at the insert and I believe it is British. Gules Burgess (GB) stem and brake calipers. All British is my bet. Serial number anywhere? Keep digging, you will get to thge bottom of it here at the CR site. Be safe, John Proch La Grange, Texas

Hello all,
Firstly I'll apologize if I get the format wrong for this email. I am new to the group and I need some help identifying a restoration project I have undertaken. The frame is currently being sprayed and I'd love to get some decals for it but I just don't know what it is.
Sadly the stem is stuck and has been damaged being removed but I have tracked down a stem of similar age to replace it.
I have just dropped the cranks off to have the chrome replaced on the arms.
Here are some pics of the bike

Here are some of the parts I have stated to clean and polish.

Some friends have suggested it is a bike from the early 50's. The bottom bracket has a sleeve in it and someone has suggested this was inserted to fit an English bottom bracket as the original may have been French but I don't know if this is correct.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer me.
