Subject: [CR] more info on Boston CL Detto

I got some info from the seller (it's a 56cm frame; way too small for me, but maybe a good deal) ===================================================================== hi david

I'm not positive of the builder, but it was made for (or at least bought by) my Australian triathlete friend while he was in Italy. I am the second owner but it has truly had only one rider as it has sat in my parents garage since I've owned it.

the brakes, hubs, crank, bb, rear mech, are all campy. oh and seat binder bolt too. I have a front deraileur to match but not in mass it would take a while maybe a month to get (it is in maine).

the top tube cable guides were removed and are rough at present, with rust on the braze on and around the joined area. these would definitely require further sand or grind-down. however, the top tube is not dimpled and in general the tubeset suffers only paint scratching at worst, with no dents. I haven't scoured it head to toe to be able to say absolutely no light dings but at a somewhat thorough inspection there are no major flaws deeper than the paint job. paint job is crap at this point though. the rear triangle has a fair amount of oxidization as it is bare steel and would also require polishing but is structurally in tact.

let me know if you may be interested dave
