Hugh,
Yes indeed, the Peugeot-BP-Michelin team bikes were silver in 1975 when Thevenet first won the Tour de France (...and they were still silver in color when he prevailed once again in 1977). As for just how Thevenet's bike was equipped back in 1975, rather than itemizing its componentry here, I am going to instead refer you to the following links.
Peugeot PY-10 articles (...two specific to Thevenet's TdF winning bike):

...and...
Peugeot PX-10 / PY-10 team bikes:

As for this second hyperlink, I am only just now working on putting together a compendium of photographs depicting various Peugeot team bikes from the early 1970's through the mid 1980's based upon photographs culled from various cycling journals of that period. As this is still a work in progress, please understand that I probably have another one-hundred-and-fifty plus images on hand left to post, but this will only occur as time allows. Also, I believe that it is worth noting that the focus of these photo albums is the bikes themselves and NOT necessarily the individual riders (...as compelling as some of their stories may be), so do not expect to see images of anyone proudly standing on the podium or chatting with others in the peloton on a rest day UNLESS there is also a Peugeot bicycle somewhere in the picture. Finally, should anyone happen upon an error or omission with respect to the verbiage associated with any of these photographs as posted to Velo-Pages, they are sincerely invited to contact me directly so that I may make corrections and/or revisions as appropriate.

One interesting thing about this bike is the way that the usual rather
clunky Simplex rear dropout has been filed away so that it looks quite
elegant as well as weighing a few grams less. I would feel a bit more
comfortable with it if there was a bit more metal left on the gear hanger
though. The droputs on my 1975 bike have additional metal to accommodate a
screw adjuster, such as this bike has, but they are not drilled and use the
old type clamp in the dropout slot to locate the wheel. Was the screw an
option at that time? Or did Simplex make provision for an adjuster screw in
the dropout forging first and then add an adjuster screw later?
My understanding about the PY10 was that Peugeot would give you more or less
what you wanted, so I would have thought it possible to get one this spec,
special edition or not. The gold groupset was offered as standard on some
Pegeots some years.
Were team Peugeots silver when Thevenet won the tour in 1975? - I thought
that was the last year of white, but I am open to correction. And does
anybody know how his bike was equipped?
Regis Delepine rode for Peugeot from 1977 to 1980, after the ebay machine
was built, so perhaps the transition in team equipment took place about the
time this bike was made (assuming the equipment on Norris' bike is as
raced).

For all you Peugeot enthusiasts on the List here's fine example for sale.
The seller claims that this immaculate 1976 model was one of a limited edition produced to celebrate Bernard Thevenet's 1975 Tour victory.
The frame is finished in the silver paint of that era and has the older chequerboard decals. A main feature of the bike is the Simplex gold anodised gear set and MAFAC brakes. Chainset is a Stronglight 93, bars are Cinelli and the hubs are Campagnolo L/F . The equipment might have been changed around a little, but I have in my collection a Peugeot Team bike that belonged to Regis Delepine that has Cinelli bars and a Campagnolo L/F Record wheelset
The current price is 300 euros with about five and half days to go. However the auction is on the French Ebay Collectables site not the main bike auction..and probably will not get as many visits.
The bike is to be found just in the outer southern suburbs of Paris, but the seler will ship world-wide.
Lest I forget, the Item No is:*1104448038349. The frame is Reynolds 531 5/10me..pretty light.*
I am tempted but at around 56cms (I think) it's too big for me.
