Subject: [CR] Tools (was VAR Swiss BB Taps)

Speaking of unusual tools: As one trying to do my own maintenance/fixing/building up of bikes, and slowly accumulating the needed tools, I'd like to know what other list members doing same consider their favorite/most useful tools that are at least a little bit out of the ordinary. I'll start with VAR 18 lockring pliers which I picked up on French eBay a couple of years ago - these make tightening a bottom bracket lockring a snap - whereas with a normal lockring wrench, I usually ended up with it slipping and nicking the paint. What are yours favorite tools?
