I will keep this short. I have strong feelings about all of my bikes and the parts that make them what they are. Why would someone want to deface a defenceless tire (or any other part of a bike) just to justify a certain "look". I do not see anything wrong with putting new and safer tires on a vintage wheel. I am not sure how safe a 30/40/50 year old tire is. Ride safe and have fun.
