Hi everyone and thanks for the advice both on and off list, nice to see us back on track.
The consensus seems to be hacksaw and file although burning has it expert supporters too, but I think that is for the brave and those more experienced and knowledgeable than me. I was looking at my trusty 'donor' or practice bike (a ladies Triumph Palm Beach) and I think it actually winced at the thought of even more indignities being inflicted on it! Unfortunately it only has a couple of braze-ons but I'll get the hacksaw out and have a practice.
