The Trek lugs were 1985 and later, if I understand what you're talking about. Plus I think your bike is 1986 or later.

I think Trek did not make this frame in 1986 in the size graduation you need to see. I hope someone will prove this wrong. But the catalog at least shows the Tri 700 made in the same sizes as the 760, and does not give geometry for the Tri 500 and 700. One possible assumption is that your 57 c-t corresponds to 56 c-c, and the 22.5 inch 760 has a seat tube length 55.9 cm c-c (experience researching and measuring the earlier 6xx bikes tells me this is probably c-c). So if the 22.5" frame is too big for you, the next step down is what Trek (this model year at least) calls a 21". This has a seat tube 52.1 cm c-c, which would mean perhaps 53.4 cm c-t.

If what you really need is 55 or 56 cm c-t in this model, or any Trek road frame that is not in centimeter sizing, you are out of luck. The 1986 770 Pro Series was listed in 52, 54, 56, and 58, which is twice as many sizes as the Tri 700s or my near and dear 6xx's.

So you need to target a 1986 770 nominally 56 cm sizing, which has a seat tube 54.9 c-c, which should translate to about 55.2 (just add half of the top tube diameter) c-t. Measure every frame you are considering.
