If you're getting to the desperation stage, you should try cross-drilling the barrels with a tiny drill bit in the area that'll be covered by the o-ring. Then drop in an allen wrench (like you would find on a c-clamp) and see if having some proper leverage will break them free. After you're done, with an o-ring in place, nobody will be the wiser....the problem with these puppies is finding somewhere to grab without doing cosmetic damage. You can easily get a 1/16" hole through there without issue.

I've tried liquid wrench, WD-40, and then I soaked then for a week in Oxalic Acid - nothing is going to get them going without destroying them in the process...
However - after i buy the replacements- if you want these, I'd be happy to drop them by next time I'm in Brooklyn...
