Subject: [CR] Help IDing a frame

I cant really think tat anyone would be foolish enough to spend time, money , a set of tubes etc etc to build that weird creation shown on Photobucket. There's just no logic in the design...nor any strength for that matter.

At first I thought that it had been a Motobecane version of a ladies frame with the single diagonal meeting up with the two stays from the rear drop-o uts, that had been altered by adding the top-tube to create a man's frame.. ..but it isn't.

Nor is it an attempt, like the Gazelle shown by Marty, to add rigidity to a very large frame..although even that design appears very contrived. At lea st the extra short diagonal tube on this frame is actually brazed to the seat tube of the frame and reinforced by the shortened seat-stays, whereas the diagonal on the blue Photobucket frame doesn't ven  reach the seat-tu be - there being a gap of about an inch. I'm begining to think that the fra me-builder left that gap to pass the cycle pump/inflator down it!

And just why the builder has chosen to bend the lower ends of the diagonal stays escapes common sense..it's just effect..and an attempt to keep the pa ssage of those tubes somewhere amidships of the seat-tube. Contrived and we ird..

At first I thought that the screen on my computer had gone out of sync..so I adjusted it a couple of times..but even those adjustments did not improve the appearance of the frame..

AS they say up here in Yorkshire...there's now't so queer as folk..and fram ebuilders!
