That is true about the sizing of the Newest and Ace. Only 22 1/2" and 24" i n the early years. Maybe the sizes complemented the 21, 23 and 25 sizes of the Finest? This is a nice website. So comprehensive on the basics and done with full copyright permissions and support from the present owners.

Very useful. Â Note that if one is to believe the catalogs, the Ace was only available in 22 1/2" and 24" and the same was true of the Newest unti l 1976. Â That's certainly not my recollection, and seems a very strang e strategy, especially for a Japanese manufacturer. Â Maybe they built these only for export to America and thought all Americans were tall. Â It doesn't say if it is ctc or ctt, but even 22 1/2 ctt seems too large to be the smallest size available. Â Anyone know if this is actually co rrect?
