This thread reminds me of a neighbor when growing up . Frame builder, old sc hool, even had the oven in the garage for the baking enamel he finished with . He had a fleet of bikes for his family , all custom made , and they could be seen on their century training rides on weekends. For any bikes he displ ayed for customers they were always full Campy Record, period. When they went to races their bikes sported Weinmann sidepulls (ala Schwinn Vasity) reworked to function correctly (lighter than Campy). Derailuers wer e Suntour V because they "shifted better than NR", the hubs ,headset, and c hainsets were the only Campy showing. His thought was USE what works best/lightest and SELL what the sheeple are c onvinced is the status symbol at that moment.

David Cowie Oakland , Oregon USA

Full Campy Record still sells best
