Anyone know what's so special about this Ideale mod 88 on eBay?
I've come accustomed to any decent alloy railed Ideale going for $300 or more and mint mod 57 alloys going for a grand or more. But this is a steel rail model, with painted rails, no less, not even chromed. I've been collecting Ideale models I don't already have when I find a good price, and I've bought several in excellent condition for less than $100 each, but then one sometimes runs across an auction like this, where a steel rail Ideale is at $569 with 10 bids and almost three days to go. Can anyone explain why one steel rail Ideale sells for 5 times more than another of seemingly similar quality and condition?
