I tried to get cranky about this self-absorbed, air-headed blog, but somehow couldn't manage it. I submit this line from James Herriot: "The old gentleman's smile seemed to convey that the follies of the young, though incomprehensible to him, were still delightful." I haven't seen Jan's book, but it looks like a real treasure.
