Yes, I won the bike. Before eBay began disguising bidder ID's, this woul d have been obvious as my eBay name is jerrymoos. I bought this bike che aper than I expected to. There were a lot of bids, but not as high as I expected. Not complaining, mind you, but I was surprised. I find it h ard to believe that anyone would rather spend $7,000 on the 70th Anniversar y Paramount frameset we discussed recently than $1,500 on a complete Sachs touring bike. Actually I find it hard to believe anyone would prefer the Paramount, even if the prices were the same. But I suppose I am talking about two completely different groups of buyers.
I'd love to share notes. I don't think Richie has built very many tourin g frames.
BTW, if you look closely, you will see this bike has a brazeon for a dynamo
in front of the rightside chainstay. This means it will need a righthand d
ynamo, which is unusual in the US. Anyone know of a source for a rightha
nd Spanninga dynamo? Velo Orange sells the Spanninga, but they stock onl
y lefthand. The B&M dynamo is available in righthand, but it is a lot mo
re expensive. May have to go with it though, if I can't find a righthand
Spanninga.
