You're right about the later date Kevin, there was no 1973 Superior. The Superior had disappeared from the Schwinn lineup after 1963, and for several years the Super Sport was the only fillet-brazed Scwinnn. In 1971 the Sports Tourer was added, and in 1976 Schwinn renamed the Sports Tourer to Superior, recycling the old name. It continued through 1978. The 1976-1978 Superior was the last fillet-brazed Schwinn.

This one is definitely one of those 1976-1978 Superiors. A bit cosmetically challenged, but well worth someone restoring, or maybe just cleaning up and touching up.

\r?\n> Offering for sale to CR list members only, a 1977 (?)

\r?\n> Schwinn Superior Filet-Brazed Chrome-Moly bicycle.

\r?\n> Apprears to be 100% original including NERVAR 5-pin

\r?\n> cotterless crank, Shwinn Approved "Le Tour" rear

\r?\n> derailleur (Shimano Crane), etc.....  Price is $150.00 plus

\r?\n> shipping.  Would be happy to deliver to T-town or possibly

\r?\n> Cirque.

\r?\n>

\r?\n> Bike has been obviously stored outside due to poor cosmetic

\r?\n> condition - frame has exterior rust and spokes are badly

\r?\n> rusted/corroded.   Could be restored, or simply clean it

\r?\n> up and use as a city bike or winter beater.  Parts should

\r?\n> clean up very nicely.

\r?\n>

\r?\n> Frame size is 20.5" CTC, 21" CTT, or 22.5"

\r?\n> center to very top of extended seat tube.  Frame color is

\r?\n> silver.  Serial number on headtube reads

\r?\n> "GJ808301" which I believe should indicate a 1973,

\r?\n> but looks more like a 76 or 77 to me????  But, I'm not

\r?\n> a Schwinn expert.

\r?\n>

\r?\n> Will gladly provide a few photos of someone is

\r?\n> interested.  I am planning on parting this bike out on eBay

\r?\n> if there is no interest here on the list.

\r?\n>

\r?\n> Please contact me offlist if you are interested, and please

\r?\n> note once again, this bike looks bad but could be cleaned up

\r?\n> for a decent rider/user.
