I have a pair of old logo Cinelli Giro d'Italia bars that are 42cm measured
   outside to outside on my 1976 Kessels Main D'Or, but I still find them nar row.  When I built up my 1978 Merckx (also by Kessels), I opted for a 3tt t cockpit, and found a great deal on ebay Germany for a 44cm set of superle ggero bars in the Eddy Merckx bend (less than $50 shipped).  They match p erfectly with the period correct 3ttt SL seat, but they are also the most c omfortable vintage bars I've ever ridden.  Nice width and great hand posi tions.
