At age 10 in 1960, I'm lucky I never saw one. My poor old JC Higgins would have seemed so shabby.
Seems like a perfect design for modern carbon fiber technology. Might even use a CF crankset for that project too. Could bring the total weight down from 50+ pounds to something closer to 25. And the lighting would be great with modern battery powered LEDs too.
