Hi , I have just taken delivery of a 24'' Gillott Fleur de Lis Road/Path
built by Ron Cooper in 1960. ( He was the only builder there at the time)
It came as a complete bike in original flam red with a black head. It has
been updated at some time with a pair of Campagnolo style pedals made by
Michelin of Italy. They have Michelin stamped on the rivetted side plate,
cast into the barrel and on the black plastic cap. One cap is missing. The
other part that is new to me is a seat post in aluminium with a steel plate
type clamp marked Cobra Brev. Ruggieri. The saddle on it is a Brooks Pro
dated 1967.
The other bits on the bike are a pair of Brevetto Longhi Fiamme sprtints on
small flange Campagnolo track hubs 3 piece type dated 56. The chainset is an
early Stronglight with TA adapter and ring. It has the domed nuts so thst
makes it early to mid 50's.
Can anyone date the pedals and seatpost? Could the pedals be early Miche?
