That's why I always preferred the crisper feel of my "Red Delicious" label #4016 rims, which had a superior core and tougher skin for brake wear, above the Dole and Chiquita models. Both the Dole and the Chiquita rims, IMHO, were notoriously "slippery" and "soft." ("Slippery" rims were especially problematic on our usually- wet streets and roads.)

All three varieties were popular in Eugene, OR, among local racers, however. It was a pretty "fruity" crowd back in the 1970s up there...
