After using and admiring the classy and sexy Record and Nuovo Record the Victory and Triomphe level components (to me) looked like crap (mainly the R/D & crank and to a lesser degree the brake calipers & F/D) and I refused to use components that looked cheap and lacking style. I have always enjoyed components that had style and performed good/great. Just like I like my tires to be comfortable and high performance (like a Victoria CX).

I seem to recall an article from somewhere (possibly Bicycling magazine?) in the arly 80s about Victory/Triomphe. IIRC, after the earlier Valentino, this upposedly was Campy's venture into non-pro peleton components to compete with he Japanese (Shimano/Suntour/Sugino) stuff. Victory was similar to but IMHO much nicer than Triomphe. Doug Van Cleve handler, AZ USA P.S. I seem to recall reading some info here, maybe a few year ago, that ndicated that Victory and Triomphe might have at least showed up at the big ike shows before the cutoff for this list...

think that there is a perception regarding Triomphe that it wasn't a top-of-the-line" pro peleton gruppo like Record, Nuovo Record or Super Record ere in their day. That probably has something to do with why Triomphe doesn't ell as well. JMHO.

Apparently, ebayers have the same bias that Classic Rendezvous listmembers have. have been selling off oodles of my collectable small parts recently and verything has sold at fair to good prices but hardly any one is watching or idding on my Triumph Campy stuff. Technically, this iteration of Campy is eometrically and mechanically traditional Campy but it's perceived value is orthless. Dale has twisted the entire population to his way of thinking. I hink he owes me at least the $10 I was asking to clear this Triumph Front erailleur out of my house. At least the Triumph rear sold for $15. Oh well, I uess I don't like low end, post classic equipment either.
