Small point, but for the uninitiated, it is called *Proofide.*

I originally suggested Neats Foot Oil as an alternative if Proofide was not available locally in Arizona, but that if Neats Foot maybe was, it was a substitute. However, I now learn from Tony Colegrave (and others) that this is a no-no as it rots the leather (there must be a lot of rotting horse-saddles around!).
