Before I list these items on eBay, I wanted to give fellow CR Listers the opportunity to buy. There are two very nice and interesting framesets, and some Gnutti cranks and rings.

They are:
1. 1941/2 Joe Cooke Imperial Petrel frameset. Frame size 22" c-t. Re-enamelled in black coach enamel (not cellulose-sprayed) with gold and red box lining, by a guy who has been restoring vintage cars, motorcycles and classic bicycles for years using this old-fashioned paint, which gives a deep, rich, period-type finish. (He sells on eBay as "tygeist"). It has a braze-on for Osgear tension lever under the bottom bracket, and back brake cable routing inside the top tube. This has been done properly, with a cable guide tube inside the top tube, and decorative whatsits (escutcheons?) at each top tube cable entry hole. I had this frame enamelled for myself, but it really is too small for me, and I haven't built it up since its respray. The blue head tube in this particular shade was typical of Joe Cooke, as was the single down tube transfer on top of the tube.

2. 1948 Baines Eccolite frameset. Size 23" c-t. This is in its original chrome, which is in very good original condition, and extremely rare original transfers. I haven't seen another Baines with anything other than repro transfers, and this one may be unique. The frame was repainted (by the guy who did the Imperial Petrel, and who owned and used the Baines extensively after painting it, so it has marks from use) in light metallic blue, to match the original as well as possible, and in such a way as to preserve the transfers.
The previous V-CC Baines Marque Enthusiast, Derek Kitchener, told me that he was familiar with the history of the frame, and that one of the Baines brothers had confirmed it to be the 1948 Show model. Eccolites are rare - one tends to see the better-known "Flying Gate" models, but in my opinion, the Eccolite gives a much more comfortable ride than a Gate.

3. Gnutti cottered cranksets, re-chromed. These were desireable Italian racing kit in the 1940s and 50s. English pedal threads. There is some light pitting under the chrome around the Gnutti name, since I didn't want the name to be polished out. £35 per set.
4. Gnutti double chainrings 46/49 tooth. Both NOS, with some light speckling from storage - will polish up very nicely. £25 each.
5. Gnutti single 46t chainring re-chromed. £10.
