I answered the question myself reading the four articles:

Custom Chromoly + Internal Lugs + Silver Ring Custom Chromoly + Internal Lugs + Silver Ring Custom Reynolds 753 + Internal Lugs + Silver Ring Custom Nivacrom + Internal Lugs + Silver Ring

...was pretty satisfied with the answer.

Maybe what you really intended to ask that would require first hand knowledge -

particulary from those who actually built them or handled the material logistics for them was:

"What was it like building these various generations of 3Vs? What particular issues arose? What techniques were used and how were various problems overcome? What led to the change of tubings with each generation or revision in tubing?"

(Those are details that the articles don't cover enough...in my honest opinion.)

Like the current original stiffness discussion...those are details keep a nerd like me paying attention for good chunk of time.
