Olmo and Olympia are good guesses for an "O", but not for Milano. Here are three other Italian builders, but I don't know the city:

ORIAGO: Italy.

ORTELLI: Italy.

OTTUSI: Italy

Dear list,

I have acquired a vintage frame which I'm told is Italian.

The memory of the previous owner (aged 75+) is a little rusty - much like the frame itself.

He said it was an Italian make beginning with "O".

So I'm guessing Olmo or Olympia...

He also mentioned it was made in Milan although he was somewhat vague on that.

There is the number "56" stamped on the seat post lug.
>From pix I've seen of early Olmo frames the seat lug looks very similar.

There appears to be no other distinguishing marks.

Seatpost is 26.8. Takes 27" wheels. Campag forks ends and rear dropouts.

Most of the frame appears to be fully chromed under the paint.

Please see some pix on my flickr page here:

Any help gratefully received.
