Dear Brian.

Living in San Francisco, and having been an urban commuter for twenty years, I completely agree! I often find myself legally stopped, and then often passed by a group of single speed riders as they blow thought the red lights and stop signs. Best of all, since I'm the only person stopped, I'm the one who gets all the motorist rage. Oh lucky me.

I hope these kids learn before they are seriously hurt. Both because I don't want to see other cyclist hurt (even the bad ones), and before they have to learn the hard way that there is no justice for a cyclist in America. The most often heard complaint I hear from other cyclist is that they feel they aren't getting any respect. But respect works both ways, you have to give some to get some.

P.S. Apologies to Dale for being off topic, but I have been needing to get this off my crest.
