Subject: [CR] FS: Masi Gran Crit twinplate '74 MC60 #179

Offered for sale is an early pressed lug twin plate crown Carlsbad Masi. This one is in very nice condition - almost pristine, but has been repainted and was "upgraded" with braze on top tube cable guides and a set of bottle bosses. Paint is a bit thicker than ideal - but the color and ovevrall affect is very pleasing.

Pictures can be seen at http://community.webshots.com/user/rlstankus - please look in the masi folder

60cm c-t seat tube 57cm c-c top tube 170mm 1973 cranks 1973 NR rear derailleur flat cage NR front derailleur flat QR NR brakes 100mm cinelli 1A stem old logo cinelli giro handlebars excellent condition suede unicanitor saddle NR double bolt seat post NR steel/chrome pedals

I am selling this with two options - with or w/out wheels. Without wheels - I'm asking $1,000 or best offer. With wheels is $100 more. I think this is a very reasonable way for someone to get a really nice early Masi with all the great trademark design/construction features of the marque and have a wonderful rider. Shipping will be actual cost plus $25 packing fee.

The bike comes with with 36 hole small flange 4x straight guage spoke wheels. Rear wheel is spaced 126mm. Rims are Martano silver tubulars and tires are Vittoria corsa CX that are still very rideable - medium tread wear. Freewheel is a suntour 6 speed and needs cleaning or replacing - there's a little bit of drag that feels like old hardened grease in there. Bike rear end is spaced 120mm but the 126mm rear wheel fits/works - just takes care to spread insert rear wheel. Not sure why this is - that's the way it came to me. The rear wheel would ideally be respaced/redished - but I don't have time to tackle that and so I'm offering the wheels optionally at a very reasonable cost.

I'd be pleased to answer any questions about the bike.
