People often wonder why I keep my bikes so clean.... I tell them it forces me to look at them. Which is a pleasure for me, but you find stuff, too.

Given that someone has apparently reanodized the crank, unless the original purchaser is definitely known I'd say it's doubtful any guess of the history/mileage of the crank would be reliable.
