Very interesting blog and information, Angel.
As a recent Gios "convert" (with a 1975 Gios Professional) who was astonished to find an Italian machine of this era with that "feathery" and "light" ride I associate with French bikes, I am intrigued how they did this. How did a cycle company that was, let's face it, an Italian Huffy, suddenly produce top-class machines of this quality and distinctive ride? The workmanship of these early Gios is exceptional and at least the equal of my Masi and Colnago. Does anyone know who the framebuilder was who designed the first generation or indeed built them and his background?
