I had a fantastic trip to New Orleans in July 2005. I even was luck enough to rent a steel beauty for the visit. Pics at http://www-hsc.usc.edu/~rpinder/neworleans.html That was weeks before Katrina. A year later when I returned, it was a totally different city - but I again explored by bike.

I sure hope they are there.... I can recommend very highly "Bicycle Michael's" in the Faubourg Marigny (the neighborhood just below the French Quarter). http://bicyclemichaels.com/
