can anyone tell me what decals should go on a 1947 Holdsworth Cyclone I am having re-enamelled? Or better still, point me to a photo.

1945 to 49 Holdsworth decals and head badges can be a difficult call. It seems they were changing styles, possibly using pre-war stock, and appear to have overlapped one style with another. You may also be governed by what is available. Norman Kilgariff's site shows a 49 catalogue line drawing illustration with an H Holdsworth down tube transfer. If that ever actually existed I don't think it has ever been reproduced. I have original photographs of a 49 Cyclone which had W F Holdsworth (with the W over the F) transfers, and that would be my first choice. They are available from Nick at H Lloyds, ref.AR2. Don't be thrown by the 49 illustration on Norman's site of the Cyclone with Olympic Chevrons as those would not have been introduced until after the London Olympics in 1948. Nick also does the Cyclone top tube script transfer, ref.AR11. The AR3 transfer will be suitable for the seat and head tubes, but if you prefer a metal head badge and don't have one I am in the final stages of reproducing the 1940s oblong alloy badge and they should be available in the next 2 or 3 weeks.
