This is going out on a limb because I didn't look at the link listed. I think this issue is about when DT lengthened the "elbow" of the spokes. Man, what a bad deal that was!

I don't think they should/would make a wheel harder to build or keep in true. They broke way, way sooner. When I figured out what had happened, I called DT and they said that more was being made of it and it wasn't such a big deal. My reputation as a wheelbuilder depends on the spokes lasting a long time and I thought it was a huge deal! We live and learn.
