In the mid 70's I was a junior rider for Cool Gear and now after 35 years off the bike (and associated poor health) I'm looking for a vintage bike to put some miles on. Of all the bikes I raced, the one I'm having a hard time identifying is one that I remember had "DES" on the tops of the rear stays. I think the name was DeSimone or something similar but I have had no luck finding any record of such a make. The frame was Columbus, I believe it was Italian and it had an aggressive criterium geometry. The frameset was given to me by Alexi Grewals dad after I broke the bottom bracket out of my beloved Guerciotti (who we bought it from). I can't recall his name but he had a shop in Aspen and imported frames from Italy from several builders.
Any of you guys ever heard of a bike that might fit this description? I'm sure it was not a DeRosa.
