Hi Gang,
I had a campy deraileur hanger brazed on a 1950-60's track bike dropout and have road it as a full on 10 speed for years. Many earlier track bikes were a more relaxed geometry back then and now it works well as a tight road bike, at least for me. I wouldn't want to tour on it but it is a quick sweet light ride.
